We’ve added Vice President of Product Mark Foster, Director of Project Management Joy Majors-Johnson and DevOps Manager Ian Seyer.
VP of Product
It is difficult to implement blockchain technology, so to solve this we have hired Mark Foster who has taken complex technology in the past and successfully launched it.
Mark is a hands-on product leader with extensive enterprise, security, and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) experience. He has a strong technical background and broad expertise in product management, product marketing, and user experience (UX). Mark will spend time learning what customers want in order to develop products and features that are applicable across multiple industries. He has a demonstrated history designing, launching and improving highly innovative solutions for a variety of markets. In fact, he has co-founded three startups that were successfully acquired:
- BindView (IPO in 1998, acquired by Symantec in 2006)
- PowerBrief (acquired by CSC in 2001)
- SmartVault (acquired by Reckon in 2016)
In Mark’s role with Factom, he will be responsible for working with management and sales to understand customer requirements and serve as a liaison between these two groups: the customer and development.
Director of Project Management
Joy is a Project Management Professional with a proven ability to manage multiple objectives in a fast-paced environment. She has managed projects through entire life cycles for software implementations in the Oil and Gas Industry and IT software companies.
In Joy’s role with Factom, she will work with various teams to put in place processes and methodologies for managing both internally and externally facing projects as well as managing these projects. She will oversee the staffing and management of the project management department, as well as coordinate business change by leading several concurrent, complex, and highly impactful technology projects.
Ian began his career as a backend developer, but has transitioned over the past several years into a full-time DevOps engineer. He has been involved in researching and investing in blockchain technologies since 2015.
In Ian’s role with Factom, he will be responsible for building high volume, high performance, and highly available SaaS solutions for our rapidly expanding operations, as well as improving deployment process and times and efficient use of development resources. He will create tooling around all of Factom’s products to make sure the development process is smooth, safe, and repeatable, while also ensuring that our products can handle high demand using industry standard practices of security and cloud server management.
We are thrilled to welcome these new additions and look forward to working with them!
