500,000 Factom Entries

We are thrilled to announce that we have reached over 500,000 entries into the Factom Data Layer since the launch of Genesis in September 2015. Securing half a million records marks a significant milestone for our development. Check out the Factom Usage Statistics compiled daily by our Process Integration Manager, D. Robert Baker.

“It is gratifying to see that Factom can indeed deal with the hyperbolic growth we’ve seen in the number of entries. We expect Factom usage to increase going forward at an even higher pace.” – D. Robert Baker

Factom in front of the US Congress

Paul Snow, Our Chief Architect, testified earlier this month before the US Congress Energy & Commerce Committee on Digital Currency and Blockchain Technology. We were honoured to be given the opportunity to educate, inform, and represent our industry.

“It was great to go to Washington DC and talk to congress about Bitcoin, the Blockchain, and how these technologies would make this a better world.” – Paul Snow

World Bank Land and Poverty Conference 2016

Our CEO, Peter Kirby, and our VP of Business Development, Abhi Dobhal, attended the 17th Annual World Bank Conference on Land and Poverty at the World Bank Headquarters in Washington D.C. The conference theme was scaling up responsible land governance.

“This was the first year blockchain technology was introduced into the Land and Poverty conference. Matt Regan, CEO of Epigraph, presented a paper describing the next generation title registries using Factom as a blockchain backend. We were ecstatic to see a healthy curiosity among the attendees, including the World Bank staff.” – Abhi Dobhal

David Johnston on Liberty.me

Our Chairman, David Johnston, was invited to participate in a discussion on Blockchain on Liberty.me hosted by Tatiana Maroz together with Joshua Scigala of Vaultoro. David discussed what Factom is working to achieve, our Chinese expansion, and what we will be rolling out shortly for Factom.

“It’s exciting to see real world use cases of the blockchain emerging in such diverse areas. From digital notarization, to smart city data, to record keeping for lending, everywhere that honesty and audibility is important, Factom can add enormous value.” – David Johnston

December 31st, 2015

We are thrilled to announce that there have been over 100,000 entries in Factom so far. On December 30th the 100,000th entry was made into our blockchain marking an impressive milestone for us.

Another notable statistic is the number of blocks generated on the Factom network, we are nearing 17,500 at the time of writing.

Our software is being used progressively more by our partners and customers, after four months from the Factom Genesis we couldn’t be happier about the network usage and reliability. “Factomizing” on our network using Factom Chains is one of the advantages we offer compared to anchoring and time stamping every entry directly onto the Bitcoin blockchain.

We reached 100,000 entries in a very short timeframe and at a fraction of the cost of doing so directly on Bitcoin. Factom is working on providing a platform that can scale to million of entries per customer while keeping costs low and the Bitcoin blockchain bloat at bay.

This is a great way for us to end the year while we look forward to 2016 when we will deliver our 2nd and 3rd milestones, announce new partnerships and customers, as wells as helping make governments, businesses, and institutions easily auditable, transparent and honest. Stay tuned.

Thanks for being an awesome and supportive community. We wish you all a Happy New Year!
